In 2010, we lost an average of $75 per animal that we took in and adopted out. This is due to the fact that we provide total vet care and many of our animals come in with treatable injuries or illnesses, sometimes both. We alter and provide complete vaccinations for our animals. We provide "room and board" while advertising our animals for adoption. In an effort to find animals' homes faster, we also keep our adoption fees lower than other comparable adoption organizations.
All of these costs add up, so donations from caring individuals such as yourself help us to continue in our mission!
All donations are tax deductible!

We do not own an adoption facility so our rescued animals go into foster homes while waiting for their permanent homes. OUR FOSTER APPLICATION
HAHS covers all food and vet care expenses! A foster parent is someone willing to bring an HAHS animal into their home for loving care and support while they await their permanent home. A foster is also responsible for answering phone calls about their foster animal and meeting with interested parties about adopting the animal.
Consider becoming a SHORT-TERM FOSTER if you have time available to you during certain times of the year. Does your pet need a buddy? TRY FOSTERING! Can't afford to own your own pet? TRY FOSTERING! What to teach your children how to responsibly interact and care for an animal? TRY FOSTERING!

We are always in need of cat litter, cat food and pet carriers, cat/dog beds, dog food, blankets and bath sized towels. We are also grateful for postage stamps, computer paper and envelopes.

We are always grateful for donations of money or used aluminum cans, ink cartridges, cell phones, I-pods, digital cameras, palm pilots and GPS Units which we recycle for money. This money goes directly to the care and placement of our animals!

Attention rural land owners:
We occasionally will receive a “farm” cat
that needs to be placed in a new home.
This is a cat that has spent most of its life outdoors and will not be suited to an indoor environment with lots of human interaction.  Be assured, we are not talking about wild or feral cats.

We are looking for rural homes where a cat could live a peaceful life with some measure of protection from the elements, food and some human interaction to make sure of its well-being.  The cat will be spayed/neutered and negative for feline leukemia and FIV.
It will also be up-to-date on all immunizations before leaving our care.  There will be NO ADOPTION charge for this animal. If you are willing to be contacted when we have a cat needing a rural home, please let us know.
